Here is your daily encouragement words and thoughts. Today I bring you encouragement from Romans 12:9-21
9 Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.
10 Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another. 11 Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.
12 Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.
13 Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.
18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.
19 Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
20 Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head.
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Some days are good days and some days can seem very bad. All too often the bad days seem to come right after a really good day. It is almost as we have a weakness for thinking that we are not worthy of having a day that good. It is at times like this that it is so easy for the devil to get under our skin. The devil will try to stand on our shoulders and try to get us to beat ourselves up.
Verse 21 here sums it all up. "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil by good." Now you might be saying "well that is easy to say but hard to do." And you are 100% right it is very hard to do. Perhaps even impossible if we are bound and determined to tackle it on our own. That is where God comes in. God is our source of strength and He gives us unending grace.

In our scripture here we are told to "Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. So we have to turn the vengeance part over to God. Anger and distress consume a lot of our energy. When we find ourselves in this mode, then we will find our strength weakened. It is at times like this that we need to allow our closest friends to help us stand, to help us put focus back on the Lord.
As friends we are instructed to "Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another." We need to be devoted to one another to so that we can lift each other up.
"Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer. " Prayer here is perhaps the most important thing. Remember Prayer is more than putting in a wish list forward to God. Prayer is communing with God, spending time with God, hanging out with Him, and just listening for his nudges.
"Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse." When you do this it is so uplifting to your spirit and it totally disarms you opponent.
Finally If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.
It is through Jesus Christ that we can do this.
Amen
