Encouragement: He will answer us

Here is your daily encouragement words and thoughts. Today I bring you encouragement from Psalm 20:1-9

May the Lord answer you when you are in trouble; may the God of Jacob make you secure!
2 May he send you help from his temple;from Zion may he give you support!
3 May he take notice of your offerings;may he accept your burnt sacrifice! (Selah)
4 May he grant your heart’s desire;may he bring all your plans to pass!
5 Then we will shout for joy over your victory; we will rejoice in the name of our God!
May the Lord grant all your requests!
6 Now I am sure that the Lord will deliver his chosen king; he will intervene for him from his holy heavenly temple, and display his mighty ability to deliver.
7 Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the Lord our God.
8 They will fall down, but we will stand firm.
9 The Lord will deliver the king; he will answer us when we call to him for help!

This psalm gives us guidance as how to speak of the lord. Note the confidence the psalmist has right from the beginning of the psalm. It is a prayer for someone else, perhaps even me.

I just typed "In Progress" earlier today as I did not know where God wanted to take the blog today. I just listened to another of Louie Giglio's messages this evening. He was talking about how things can go wrong and will go wrong in our life and when we pray sometimes we do not get the exact result of what we pray for. He said that God paints the picture with a large canvas. Bigger than we can see. We may not be able to see through to what God has planned but we need to find the strength to trust him that he will enter into all things to work for His good purpose.

Bottom line here is that we need to get to a point in our relationship with God that we can feel that we trust him no matter what. Each day we walk with him he gives us the strength for that day and nothing more. Think of Jesus at the cross he prayed that "if it is your will take this from me" but Jesus had to endure the cross and death so that the Easter could happen. Much good coming from a bad experience

So even when all goes wrong and everything around you is crumbling down. God may be using you for his good purpose. So may we say " The Lord will deliver the king; he will answer us when we call to him for help!" trusting Him realizing that God is in control and with His entire canvas in view he paints with knowledge.

Amen
