As I walk in my daily life I often get flustered there is just so much to keep you busy. There are important meeting that you have to attend because if you are not there then .........well I am just so important in the world that nothing can happen without my involvement. I have put a link on my blog site entitled "An Indescribable God" it is a message that I have experienced in my own life but obviously I needed to experience again. I will not go into what the message is I will let you hear Louis Giglio present it himself.I will however tell you a bit about my experience of God being big me being insignificant. I used to live in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Living there was nice in that you were a 4 hour drive from the grandeur of the mountains in Jasper National Park. I used to go to Jasper on the long weekends camping. Living in the city it w
as a real treat to get out in nature. To feel the fresh air in your lungs and experience the beauty that surrounds you. The biggest benefits of the trip though revolved around facing how big nature is and how small and insignificant we are in the scope of things. I would be sure to stop at Athabasca falls. Pictures never portray the full grandeur of the water or the cool spray hitting your face or the roar of the water. But it can remind you of how large and powerful nature is. A nature created by God. The roar of the water is almost deafening but still conveys a peace that only God can bring.The highlight of the trips would be to go up the tram on one of the mountains and then walk up to the top. The air gets thinner the higher you go it would take over an hour to get to the very top of the mountain.
The beauty and the distance you can see increases the higher you go. The little flowers that grow up amongst the rocks are amazing also. Once at the top I would love to just sit down and look around and just absorb the view into my soul. To feel just how small and unimportant I am and how big God is. The thin air gives a tingling feeling as though God has wrapped his arms around you. As you gaze out in silence with only the wind singing sounds in your ear you can reflect on life and refocus to see that self importance is over played in our world and that we are like flowers that bloom only for a short time. May we bring beauty and peace to this world and let our lights shine. I leave you with a word of scripture that I feel captures what we must do. It is from Psalm 46 verse 10Psalm 146 :10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
