Encouragement: With a freewill offering

Today I bring you words and thoughts of encouragement from Psalm 54:1-7

O God, deliver me by your name!
Vindicate me by your power!
2 O God, listen to my prayer!
Pay attention to what I say!
3 For foreigners attack me;
ruthless men, who do not respect God, seek my life. (Selah)
4 Look, God is my deliverer!
The Lord is among those who support me.
5 May those who wait to ambush me be repaid for their evil!
As a demonstration of your faithfulness, destroy them!
6 With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you!
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good!
7 Surely he rescues me from all trouble,
and I triumph over my enemies.

I am not sure why but I kept coming back to Psalm 54. Someone must need to hear these words.

For myself, I find this Psalm to be a difficult Psalm to read because of the Psalmist's repeated requests to destroy the enemies. I guess I am a peace making person at heart. But there have been times when my prayer goes up aggressively, thus to know you are not alone in an aggressive request to the Lord can be of comfort.

The music I found to go along with this text has a haunting sound, yet it conveys the feeling of trust that our relationship with the Lord demands.
